Instruction by Experienced Tutors

At the United Learning Center, tutors assess every student before creating a customized learning plan. Tutors monitor students' progress, instructing and coaching them along the way. All ULC tutors are trained in the Orton-Gillingham methods of literacy instruction, which can support students with Dyslexia and similar learning differences.

Individual Attention to Every Student

With a maximum student-to-teacher ratio of 4:1, each child receives maximum attention from a skilled educator.

Free Program

United Learning Center is a FREE tutoring program made possible by the generosity of United Way supporters.

RESULTS

During the pilot phase, the ULC was proven to be highly effective for all enrolled students. On average, program participants demonstrated an improvement of 2 reading grade levels—a true indicator of the power of in-person learning! Additionally, students improved in the areas of phonological awareness, word decoding, and sight word mastery.
